When my manager slut- shamed me

If only I got a dollar every time someone did that to me, I wouldn’t be quite a millionaire, but I would definitely be richer. One thing was when a stranger did so, but it was another thing when it was someone you knew and worked with. That’s exactly what happened with me and my former manager Angela during the beginning of a pandemic.

Angela signed me back in November of 2019 and started booking me like crazy. I remember I was driving to Columbia, SC and she called me to tell me that my next gig is going to be “it”. I had to pull off the road to have a 30-minute chat about that.

The “this is it” gig was a web-series about Amelia Earheart and how she time-traveled into the future, there were going to be robots, a bit of steampunk, etc. As an optimist, I thought it was definitely a good credit to have on my resume, along with some networking opportunities. As a realist- it was definitely NOT going to be my breakout role, since it didn’t have any celebrities, and those series had a very shitty trailer with really bad CGI.

Two weeks later I was credited on IMDb, but the production was on hold until a director named Mickey would get 5 million dollars via crowdfunding. 5 MILLION DOLLARS!!! So, that was a bust. This Mickey guy didn’t have any legit credits on IMDb, and I felt like he only wanted hot, and very young girls for this project. While he was married. Another pedophile in the industry? Shocker...

Angela called me a week later and stated that she couldn't represent me anymore, because I had an OnlyFans page. I usually have something to say and I’m quick on my feet, but that sentence definitely got my tongue stuck in the throat.

My first question for her was- how did she find out?

Answer: Mickey told her.

Fact: Mickey found me on OF and snitched to her about it.

Fact: Both of them were unprofessional and another RED FLAG that I had to deal with.

I told Angela that she wasn’t even signed with SAG, and if she wanted to do that- she had to go through lots of paperwork and hassle. No one can call themselves managers out of a sudden. I also notified her that I lost my job due to CoVid. Prostitution wasn’t an option, while OF was safe and I made good money doing that. If you're a beautiful person, why not make money off of that? There are many beautiful art pieces that capture gorgeous women and people enjoy looking at them. But when a person shares photos of him/her online via private party- the world is ending. Am I right or am I RIGHT?!

Fortunately, I’ve learned my lesson- that you should not have a manager until you have a career to manage, and that this manager has to be a part of SAG Franchise. Also, if someone says they’re a professional and they’re obviously not- make sure to cut ties with them, and let others know how to avoid people like that ;)

Besides Angela I had quite few other people who slut-shamed me. One of them was a guy, named Brandon or Bryce who I worked with on a set of "The Act" in 2018. I remember when I had less than $100 in my bank account, I promoted my OnlyFans account and he said that "I was gross and he'd never sign up for that shit." But whenever I post boudoir photos on my Instagram, he is the first one to like them. Whatever.

Other people who were very judgemental towards me were mostly older women. I can definitely remember one of them whose name was Erika, and she just had something for me. Here's the thing- I am nice to everybody, I try to be. Since I met her on the set of "Mr.Mercedes" that woman loved to talk smack behind my back every time she got a chance. I think it was because I stopped doing extra work and pushed myself to become a real, working actor while she went from one set to another. Erika loved sugarcoating how she knew many celebrities, how her life was wonderful, but grass was always greener on the other side. I even remember when she came into my home to tape an audition with my roommate, and she straight up told me she was jealous of me, because I was single and I could do whatever I wanted. Erika had family and rich husband at that time, so I don't know what the heck she was complaining about. But the point was that at least she was honest. I did feel bad for her occasionally.

The conclusion is- if you're a pretty, you will get slut-shamed and if you work your ass off- you will get haters. Don't ever pay attention to those people! When they talk shit behind your back- good! That's where they should be- behind you. Never give up and always be nice wherever you go. It's better to be above haters :)
